BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS- A BOON OR A CURSE

Bodybuilding supplements are nutritional pills, powders, drinks, etc. taken by people involved in weight training to aid in the building muscle mass, losing fat, boosting testosterone, etc. These have protein, vitamins, minerals, herbs or other substances believed to stimulate the body to help increase muscle gains.
These supplements are made up of:
1. Protein: Extra protein is required to build muscle. Protein supplements are easy to mix and most taste great to they make it easier to get your extra protein. Many take protein before and after working out, or in place of a meal.
2. Amino Acids: They are the basic building blocks of protein and muscle fibers. Amino acids help in workout recovery and the repair and growth of muscle.
3. Creatine: Increases energy to the muscles needed to put you all into your weight lifting workouts. Creatine can help increase strength, help build more muscle mass, and reduce workout recovery time.
4. Prohormones and Testosterone Boosters: There are several herbs, minerals, etc. that many claim can help boost the bodies own natural production of testosterone. Some of these include, DHEA, Tibullus Terrestris and Zinc.
5. Fat Burners: These are herbs that help increase metabolism, thus burning more calories. Some also help suppress your appetite, balance you blood sugar, etc.
These supplements can be found in a number of forms, there are those that you just mix in a drink. Yet another method is the good old fashioned pills, tablets and capsules.

Importance of bodybuilding supplements :

Nutritional supplements should be taken by all people, but bodybuilding supplements are a necessity for bodybuilders who want to build muscle. Even the most health conscious people cannot get enough vitamins, minerals, and essential nutrients in their everyday diets easily. Bodybuilding supplements aid bodybuilders in maintaining the necessary energy level to complete their grueling workouts on a daily basis. Most people would be completely exhausted after one day of a bodybuilder's workout and would not even consider going back to the gym for a second day. Determination coupled with quality bodybuilding supplements can provide the physical energy and stamina required to push through the workout and get the results that bodybuilders are looking for. Bodybuilding supplements also help bodybuilders to strengthen their muscles by providing the necessary protein and nutrients to the body at the right times of the day. It is entirely impractical for anyone to eat the large amounts of protein that bodybuilders require along with the quality nutrition that they need before and after each and every workout. Therefore, supplements are essential. They provide the bodybuilder with everything necessary to make the workout do what it is supposed to do: build bigger and stronger muscles.

Risks involved in using bodybuilding supplements:

It is necessary to do a bit of research before opting for any supplement. These supplements increase the muscle mass drastically in a very short span of time, which might prove to be either futile or harmful to us. Some of the supplements are obtained from natural products which do not cause much harm to our body, if taken in small quantities. However, excessive consumption harms our system as the body cannot get rid of the excess oil-based vitamins present in these supplements.
